Translations for the real estate industry – how a translator can assist you in purchasing or renting an apartment and what they can do for your real estate agency

The real estate industry develops more and more every year. The demand for apartments, houses, and plots of land is growing, especially in large voivodeship cities. Interest in real estate in major cities has increased in 2023 thanks to the government’s ‘Credit 2%’ program.

However, it is not only Polish citizens who aspire to buy an apartment or house. More and more foreigners are choosing to buy property in Polish cities. Renting apartments or commercial spaces is also becoming increasingly popular.

If you are a foreigner and plan to rent or buy real estate in Poland, it is very likely that you will need to use the services of a sworn translator.

Our translation agency can help you! We have many years of experience and dozens of satisfied companies among our clients.

Non-sworn translations from the Real Estate sector – what kind of content do we translate?

We also offer non-sworn (standard) translations. Such translations do not include the translator’s seal or signature and are sent to the client in electronic form.

These are typically texts intended for publication, such as website content, social media posts, flyers, or promotional brochures. We also provide specialized translations, including technical, real estate and construction industry, financial, and legal translations.

If you’re a real estate agent, run a development company, or are professionally involved in real estate in any other way, check out what we can do for you!

What do we translate and why is it better to leave it to the experts?

  • marketing materials, including, translations of informational brochures, leaflets, offers, and catalogues. It is extremely important to make sure your offer reaches non-Polish speakers, a group that is steadily increasing in our country.
  • websites of real estate developers and agents – it is important to engage non-Polish speakers with your company’s offer. Professional websites in multiple languages can help you attract not only new clients but also business partners.
  • real estate listings for sale/rent/lease – when you browse popular listing portals, you’ll notice that more and more offers posted by professional companies have descriptions in multiple languages. This allows you to reach a much wider audience. This description must be translated accurately and professionally. After all, it is primarily meant to encourage a potential client to contact you. 🙂
  • translations in the construction industry – unprofessional technical translations can expose a company not only to moral damage (when errors are pointed out in the text) but also financial losses. Errors in such documents (e.g., operating instructions) can expose machines to accidents and damage, and even endanger the lives or health of workers.

Real estate and interpreting – when is a translator required to accompany you to the notary?

Our translation agency also offers interpreting services in the real estate sector. This usually occurs during visits to the notary when signing notarial deeds. In the simplest terms, it involves ‘hiring’ a translator who will accompany clients to their notary meeting for a specified period and on a specific date.

When must the interpreter accompany the client to the notary?

If one of the parties to a sales contract (or lease agreement) is a non-Polish speaker, it is necessary to use a sworn translator of the language he or she speaks.

Most often this occurs in the case of a so-called ‘occasional lease’ when the landlord signs a statement of submission to enforcement at the notary’s office. You can find a sample of such a statement online and get acquainted with it beforehand, but before the notary, it will be translated by the sworn translator present.

Our translation office most often handles such translations from English, Ukrainian, and Spanish, but we also offer other languages – we can provide translations in over 40 different languages!

Other interpreting services in the real estate sector include, for example:

  • Notary translations (notarial deeds, statements of submission to enforcement)
  • Legal translations (e.g., sales agreements)
  • Business meeting translations (e.g., for developers)
  • Real estate conference translations
  • Commercial spot translations

How do you order interpreting services at the notary?

Choose a service provider (translation office or translator) whose offer interests you.

Schedule an appointment with the notary or inquire about available dates.

Contact the office or translator to ask for a specific date. In the case of a less common language, it is better to contact the translator first and then the notary. There are certainly more notaries than, for example, sworn translators of Greek. In your inquiry, make sure to include:

  • the exact date and time,
  • the address,
  • the nature of the notarial act and the expected duration.

You will receive a quote. Remember that no translator will wait several days for your decision. The deadline may no longer be valid the next day, as they may accept another request from a client who decided more quickly.

Pay for the order.

The translator will arrive on the specified day at the designated address. You will receive their contact details in advance.

Financial and legal translations in the real estate industry – sworn and non-sworn translations.

Specialized translations in the real estate sector can often be a real challenge. Contracts related to real estate are often intricate, complicated sentences written in legal language.

Popular online translators or artificial intelligence may struggle to accurately translate such texts. The same applies to financial texts. It is crucial to assign this task to experienced translators whose expertise and knowledge ensure the highest quality of translation, just as we do in our translation office.

Our specialists will undertake the translation of:

  • documents for a mortgage loan (account statements, employment contracts, tax documents, certificates)
  • financial statements for your company (e.g., development or construction company)
  • extracts from land and mortgage registers, court rulings
  • documents related to inheritance proceedings
