We offer:
- simultaneous interpreting (at the same time, ‘live’) – usually carried out in soundproof booths, where the interpreter listens to the speech and translates it with a delay of a few seconds. They require special concentration and resistance to stress, as well as perfect language skills. They are mainly used during international congresses, conferences, etc. Simultaneous interpretation into any number of languages is possible.
- whispered interpreting (‘chuchotage’) – simultaneous interpreting without specialised equipment. The interpreter translates statements live, directly in contact with the recipient. Whispered interpreting is most commonly used at official meetings with smaller audiences.
- consecutive interpreting (follow-up) – the interpreter gradually translates parts of the speech during pauses initiated by the speaker. In the meantime, he/she takes notes to help reproduce the content in the given language. Consecutive interpreting does not require technical facilities, but it is worth bearing in mind that it extends the speaking time.
- sworn (certified) interpreting – consecutive interpreting performed only by persons qualified as sworn interpreters. Mostly required during various official acts (e.g. marriage to a foreigner, court proceedings, notarial acts when one of the parties does not know the official language of the country).
