Spanish belongs to the Romance language family. It is also called Castilian (castellano) because its literary variety was based on a dialect spoken in this region. This name also helps to distinguish it from the other languages spoken in Spain: Catalan, Galician or Basque.
It is the mother tongue for around 500 million people worldwide and the official language in Argentina, Bolivia, Spain, Peru, Mexico, Uruguay, Cuba, among others.
Spanish is also one of the languages of the United Nations, the European Union, UNESCO, the African Union and the Organization of American States.
Our offer includes professional translations and interpreting services from Polish into Spanish and from Spanish into Polish, including sworn translations.

Sworn Spanish translations – who can perform them?
If an authority or other institution requires you to submit a certified translation, you must apply to the appropriate person for such a service. Not every Polish-Spanish translator is qualified to provide sworn translations.
A person wishing to become a sworn translator must meet a number of formal requirements (e.g. in terms of citizenship, clean criminal record or education), as well as pass a two-part state examination. Thus, it is not only excellent language skills that count here.
An interpreter who meets all the requirements is sworn in by the Minister of Justice and entered in the list of sworn translators held by the Ministry of Justice.
From then on (or rather, from the moment he/she receives the seal), the translator can work as a sworn Spanish translator. The profession of sworn translator and the rules for its practice are regulated by a decree of the Minister of Justice.
If you are in need of a Spanish translator, find out first whether a sworn translator will be necessary for your case or whether a non-sworn translator will be enough.

Spanish translations – can you get everything done online?
We very often receive this question, especially from individual customers. The answer is not clear-cut, because it depends on many factors.
Non-sworn translations do not include the translator’s stamp and signature. In this case, the entire translation process takes place online and there is no need to visit our office.
In the case of sworn translations, it is the legal obligation of the translator to annotate whether he/she has made the translation on the basis of the original (= whether he/she has seen the original document) or on the basis of a copy/photo/scan.
If a client needs a translation ‘from the original’, it is necessary to bring the document to our office. This does not need to be done in person, it can be sent to us by post, courier or parcel locker.
We send back the finished sworn translation as a scan, and a paper version can be collected from our office or we can send it to any address in Poland or abroad.
We also offer translations with a certified electronic signature of a sworn translator. With this option, you do not need to collect a paper version of the translation, you will receive the file electronically.
If you have to submit a document to a foreign institution, ask if they will accept a translation with an electronic signature. From our experience with this type of translation, they are often much more positive about it than Polish offices. 🙂

Interpreting at a civil wedding
If you are having a civil wedding and your spouse only speaks Spanish, you will need a sworn Spanish translator. He/she will translate the entire ceremony and the words of the vows from Polish into Spanish and vice versa, so that everyone understands the entire content.
The sworn Spanish translator can also accompany the future spouses on pre-wedding office visits. He/she can also provide certified translations of the necessary documents into Polish.
Interpretation at a notary’s office
This is by far the most common type of interpreting that individual clients opt for. It includes the translation of various types of notarial acts.
The most common situations where the presence of an interpreter is needed at the notary:
- purchase of real estate (primary or secondary market)
- apartment/house rental (occasional lease agreement, statement on voluntary submission to enforcement)
- drafting and signing of the power of attorney
- consent for a child to travel abroad
We guarantee the highest quality of translation. We only work with experienced and verified translators.
