Why is it useful to translate from and into Russian?
- It is the native tongue of approximately 145 million people and is spoken by a total of 250 to 300 million people worldwide.
- It is an official language in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus and one of the six official languages of the United Nations, as well as a working language of the Eurasian Economic Union.
- It is the third most widely spoken language among Indo-European languages (after English and Spanish).
- Approximately 300,000 people emigrated from Russia last year, an increase of 40% on previous years. Some Russians are settling in our country, which affects the demand for sworn translations from Russian into Polish.
- The expansion of various Western companies into Russian-speaking countries necessitates the translation and localisation of websites into Russian; also promotional materials, trade agreements, etc. need to be translated.
