Sworn Norwegian translator – what should you know?
We offer professional sworn and non-sowrn translations in the Norwegian-Polish language pair. Please note that not every Norwegian-Polish translator can certify a translation. This can only be done by a sworn translator of the Norwegian language, i.e. a person holding a licence granted by the Ministry of Justice. Such a translator, besides having excellent knowledge of the Norwegian language, must meet a number of other requirements and pass a 2-part state examination.
Such translations include the signature and seal of a sworn translator, regardless of whether the translation is into Polish or Norwegian.
When is a sworn translation needed?
Although non-sworn translations are much less formal, the cost of translation is lower and the whole process can be done online, however, a Polish office, university, court or other institution may not accept such a document and a sworn translation will be necessary. Remember that in other countries, these rules may be different.
If you wish to translate an official document, please contact us by email or telephone. It is best to send a scan or a high-quality picture of the documents right away. On this basis, we will be able to estimate the price of the translation and offer a precise delivery date. You will receive all further instructions and payment details in the quotation. In what format will you receive the sworn translations?
Once the quote has been accepted, we will proceed and send you the finished translation of your documents in electronic form (scan) and the original can be collected from our office. On request (for an extra charge), we can also send the translated documents to any address in Poland. We also send finished translations to Norway.
Unfortunately, at the moment, none of our Norwegian sworn translators have a certified electronic signature. However, if you absolutely need a translation in this form, please contact us and we will see how we can help you.
Non-sworn Norwegian-Polish translations
If you have, for example, a website or an app, a marketing or literary text to translate, a non-sworn Norwegian translator will certainly be enough. Such a translation does not contain any stamp or signature of the translator and is sent back as an editable file.
However, this does not mean that it is of a lower quality compared to sworn translations. Translating texts, e.g. for a website, is a highly demanding task, as they often contain specialised vocabulary and require translators specialising, for example, in technical or other industry-specific texts. It is then extremely important to choose the right translator, preferably one with a technical background.
Deadline
We can translate a short, standard document (e.g. a birth certificate) in just 1 working day. The deadline depends on the length of the document, its subject matter and level of specialisation. It may also be longer depending on whether a sworn translator is required or not.
Please note, however, that in the case of specialised translations from or into Norwegian, the turnaround time may be slightly longer, and express translation may not be possible.
