Greek belongs to the Hellenic Indo-European language group. It is an official language in Greece, Cyprus (alongside Turkish) and one of the official languages in the European Union. The distinction between Greek and the modern language, Novogreek, is extremely important. It refers, among other things, to changes in grammar and phonetics. Novogreek also has numerous borrowings from Turkish or Western languages.

Holidays in Greece – what texts is worth translating before you go?
For years, Greece has been one of the countries that Poles most eagerly choose as a holiday destination. Poles willingly go on holiday to Greece because of the country’s beautiful beaches, warm climate and rich history and culture. Additionally, Greece offers relatively affordable prices compared to other popular tourist destinations.
Language barriers between Polish citizens and Greeks may make it necessary to regularly use professional translations–interpretation and translation–from and into Greek in tourism.

Translation into or from Greek – what does the TRANSLATION PRICE depend on?
There are several factors determining the cost of any translation (regardless of the language). In order to make an accurate quote for a service, it is necessary to analyse the documents to be translated. Thanks to many years of experience, we are able to quote some documents in just a few minutes. Sometimes, however, the valuation process is more extensive and time-consuming.
What are the main factors that determine the PRICE OF A TRANSLATION?
- Type of translation (sworn/non-sworn translation, interpretation) – Non-sworn translations are generally slightly cheaper than sworn translations. Interpreting is always priced individually.
- Type of document and its length (calculated in characters with spaces) – In the case of sworn translations, the volume of the text also includes elements such as stamps, logos, watermarks, signatures, graphics and other elements that need to be described by the translator.
- The subject matter of the text and the degree of specialisation (for example, simple marketing slogans will be cheaper than, say, translating instructions for a specialised machine from Polish into Greek).
- Deadline – Urgent or express translations are always associated with a higher cost.
