German belongs to the Germanic language group, but, despite its name, has the most borrowings of any language in this group.

German is the mother tongue for more than 100 million people worldwide and as many as 80 million people speak it as a second language.

It is an official language in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein. The language of our western neighbours is also one of the official languages of the European Union, alongside English and French.

Our translation agency offers professional translations and interpreting services in the German-Polish language pair, including sworn translations.

Polish-German sworn translator – what is worth knowing?

Have you been informed by a German authority that you need a sworn translation of a document into German? Or perhaps a notary in Poland wants you to provide him with a German translation?

You have come to the right place. Certified translations (commonly referred to as sworn translations) are our speciality.

Such a translation must be done by a sworn German translator. Of course, not every Polish-German translator has such a qualification. Sworn translators are persons who, after meeting a number of formal requirements and passing a 2-part state examination, have gained the right to perform certified translations.

This guarantees that they have a very advanced command of the German language. They must also have an excellent knowledge of Polish, as half of the examination tasks involve translation and interpreting from a foreign language into Polish.

They are affiliated to a special List of Sworn Translators maintained by the Ministry of Justice. The translation they produce includes the imprint of the official seal and the signature of the sworn translator.

If you have a document that needs to be translated by a sworn German translator, please contact us. We have a wide range of trusted sworn translators of the German language.

Sworn German translator – how to request a translation online?

What to include in a request for a sworn or a non-sworn translation?

  1. Send us a scan or high-quality picture of your documents. Ideally, the scan should be in colour. In the case of photographs, it is very important that they are of the best possible quality. No part must be cropped or blurred. You can use the free quote form or simply email us at: bok@polyland.pl.
  2. Include all the necessary information: whether it is a certified or an ordinary translation, what deadline you would be interested in, whether you have any special requirements (certified electronic signature, only some pages of a document, etc.).
  3. Add information on whether you will collect the finished translation in person or whether you would like to pay extra for shipping (in Poland or abroad).
  4. Wait for a response with our quote.

Non-sworn German translations – how do they differ from sworn translations?

Non-sworn is the other type of translation. Regardless of the language, it does not include the translator’s seal and signature. The finished translation is usually sent to the client electronically as an editable file.

However, this does not mean that such translation is of inferior quality. Non-sworn translations also require a great deal of knowledge and care from the translator. For years, we have ensured the quality of our services by cooperating only with trusted and proven individuals.

Examples of non-sworn translations provided:

  • websites and applications
  • marketing/advertising texts
  • scientific papers and other texts for publication
  • translation of financial documents (where no authentication is required)
  • technical translations (instruction manuals, technical specifications)
  • translation of medical documents (where no authentication is required – e.g. hospital discharge notes, operation descriptions, vaccination cards)

Price list:

Sworn and non-sworn translations also differ in terms of pricing. 1 billing page of an non-sworn translation consists of 1500 characters with spaces, and 1 billing page of a sworn translation consists of 1125 characters with spaces.

In our translation agency, prices for 1 billing page of translation into and from German start from PLN 50 net.

The price of the service depends on the length of the text, as well as its subject matter. If you have a specialised text, the quote will be higher.
