Sworn French translations – what should you know?
If you need a translation for an authority, court, bank or other official institution, you will most likely need a certified translation, commonly referred to as a sworn translation. It is worth noting that not all French translators can perform such a translation.
Such a translation can only be carried out by a sworn French translator, i.e. a person with a special licence granted by the Ministry of Justice. A sworn translation includes the signature and official seal of the translator.
In addition to excellent knowledge of the language, a sworn French translator must also meet a number of other requirements and pass a 2-part state examination. Once he/she passes and is sworn in in a ceremony, he/she can start working as a sworn French translator.
French translations – when is a non-sworn translation enough?
Non-sworn translations do not contain the translator’s stamp or signature. They are sent back to the client in electronic form.
It could be useful for marketing texts (advertising material), literary texts, newspaper articles. We also very often do non-sworn technical translations (for example, user manuals, technical specifications, training materials in a given industry).
We also translate websites and applications.
In addition, we carry out proofreading of texts. If you already have a translated text but have doubts about its quality, we can offer professional proofreading and correction services.
Our translation agency will also provide you with professional translations carried out by or with the correction of a native speaker of French, i.e. a person for whom French is their mother tongue. This is a particularly recommended option if the client wishes to preserve the cultural context.
French to Polish translations online?
In the case of sworn translations from and into French, we offer the possibility of making the translation with a certified electronic signature. This form is increasingly accepted by offices and institutions in many countries. Not only companies, but also individuals are increasingly opting for this form.
If you wish to order such a translation, please let us know when placing your order. There is no need to pay extra for this form.

Translations into and from French – what is their price?
In our office, we provide sworn and non-sworn translations in the French-Polish language pair. You will find the basic tariffs for 1 billing page in our price list.
- 1 billing page of a sworn translation consists of 1125 characters with spaces
- 1 billing page of a non-sworn translation consists of 1500 characters with spaces
Please note that if the text contains technical, medical etc. terminology, the price of the translation will be higher as it is a specialised translation. Unfortunately, reliable translations of specialised text cost at least 10% more than the listed tariffs. So if you have, for example, medical documentation to translate, you can expect a slightly higher amount.
If your order is large or contains a lot of repetitive content/similar documents, we can offer a discount.

Specialised texts and interpretations are quoted individually

Interpretation in the French-Polish language pairnslation that you will be provided with in our office is interpreting.
We offer professional interpreting from French into Polish and vice versa.
The most common is interpreting at a notary’s office, when a French-speaking person who does not speak Polish performs some notarial act. A sworn French interpreter is then required to attend the appointment on the day and translate the conversation between the notary and the client(s).
Such translations are not just for meetings at the notary’s office. We can also offer the services of our Polish-French interpreter at other events such as business negotiations, conferences, office visits, civil weddings and many more. Sworn translations are not required in all of these cases; sometimes a Polish-French translator without the authority of a sworn translator will be enough.
